OUR COMMITMENT TO OUR COMMUNITY
At Adams, Gut & Associates we are a team that is committed not only to enriching our clients’ lives, but also the lives of all of those around us. Through a variety of strategic partnerships, we do what we can to share our own resources with the community, through volunteering and donations. Service is one of our team’s core values, along with integrity, helpfulness, camaraderie and communication. We enjoy the work we do with clients as well as our opportunities to give back and help others.
The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank was formed in 1982 by a group of community leaders who made a commitment to provide emergency food to our neighbors in need. Today, the Foodbank provides food and other essential items to member hunger-relief programs in eight Northeast Ohio counties: Carroll, Holmes, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas and Wayne.
Women’s Network Leadership Institute exists to Connect, Empower and Inspire through professional development, leadership training, continuous research and thought leadership. In 2019, Women’s Network Leadership Institute released the Gender Equity and Women’s Leadership Study on the status of women in Summit County.
Women’s Network Leadership Institute has a deep history in Summit County, dating back to 1978 when a group of women saw the need to support each other. Formed as a 501c3, the network’s mission has always been to be the vehicle by which women could assist each other in growing personally and professionally.
In the fall of 2019, Women’s Network Leadership Institute and the Greater Akron Chamber memorialized a formal Affiliation Agreement. Women’s Network Leadership Institute essentially became the professional development, leadership development and programming arm of the Greater Akron Chamber.
As two organizations with similar missions, together we provide valuable programming and leadership development for women. With the timely mission of Elevate Greater Akron, Women’s Network Leadership Institute is committed to the mission of equity and inclusion for all.
United Way of Summit & Medina Counties has been serving our community since 1918. In the past 20 years, they’ve developed a volunteer center and numerous community partnership to promote unity in helping those in need. Our community’s deep engagement led them to establish new Bold Goals for 2025 and this year they pivoted to help in countless new ways during the pandemic.
We are proud to join United Way as members of the Tocqueville Society, an elite group who has demonstrated the highest level of commitment to improving our community through an annual contribution of $10,000 or more. Since its local foundation in 1989, the Tocqueville Society has generated more than $23.2 million in donations which have all been invested to improve lives in Summit County, where we live and work.
The University of Akron – one of the top public universities in Ohio and the nation – is focused on innovation, entrepreneurship and economic growth. We partner with the University in a variety of ways. Our involvement began with helping to fund the John R. and Dr. Sarah A. Adams Honors College Amphitheatre and the Mr. John R. Adams and Dr. Sarah A. Adams speaker series at the Honors College. It has expanded to include involvement with the College of Business Advancement Council, whose objective is to effect a close working relationship between business and management leaders in the greater Akron community, State of Ohio and the Nation and the faculty and students of the College. In 2019 our firm started its own Financial Planning Internship Program, accepting one junior or senior Financial Planning student to learn firsthand about comprehensive planning, team integration and superior client service.
We are proud to announce our newest partnership with UA – the Mr. John R. Adams & Dr. Sarah A. Adams Family Scholarship in Financial Planning. We established this scholarship to support financial planning students at the University of Akron beginning in the 2021-2022 school year. This $5000 scholarship will be awarded to one high-achieving student annually who is majoring in financial planning. In addition, first consideration will be given to a female or minority student, to encourage diversity in a profession where only 23 percent of Certified Financial Planners (CFPs) are women and less than four percent are African American or Hispanic/Latino.
ORGANIZATIONS WE SUPPORT
Whether currently active or a past participant, we’ve made it a point to partner, volunteer our time and give back to these events and organizations.
